For instance, DVD PROFILER only wants the shorter barcode. DVDpedia wants all 12 digits. That was the reason why it took forever to enter/search a new title. Now that I know that little trick, I am whizzing through my collection as we speak. .....Nice to meet you. Likewise, and I apologize for my e...

Sorry, friend. I was making fun of your tone, which was more than a little snippy. It sounds as though you are unhappy to have switched to a Mac, and I have NEVER heard that before! The problems you describe are not insuperable. When you switch to a new platform and a new application, you have to ex...

No, you should go back to the PC. And take Laurel and Hardy with you.NJRonbo wrote:If anyone can help me overcome the obstacles I noted above, I would be very happy to re-examine this program on those merits.

Wouldn't that result in giving them all the same title rather than removing the asterisks from a number of different titles? Eeeps. You are right. I was thinking that all the asterisk marks would group, but the problem is that sorting doesn't recognize those characters. My apologies for giving bad ...

I would get rid of those leading characters by doing a Multiple Edit. Just select all the problematic entries, do a Cmd-E, and then in the template write the title as you wish to see it. Bingo, they all change to the new form. This is the quickest way to clean up data so that it sorts well and has c...

It might make sense for small collections, but not for big ones. I will eventually have 5,000 books, over 1,000 CDs, and 800 DVDs. I don't want all that stuff in the same database. Look at the field templates sometime and note how different they are! However, I do wish there were a Pedia Lite that I...

This may not be the answer you want to hear, but I find it's a lot faster just to type in the ISBN or else a short version of the title. If your items don't have those standard features, especially titles in a Roman alphabet, then I understand why you prefer to use the iSight. I think several thread...
