I'm not seeing the problem here. I own several boxed sets, and Amazon has so far included the titles of every film. I copy and paste the titles to Comments, so they show in Info before the Summary. That doesn't work for TV shows which have different writers and cast for each episode. I have many of...

I would get rid of those leading characters by doing a Multiple Edit. Just select all the problematic entries, do a Cmd-E, and then in the template write the title as you wish to see it. Bingo, they all change to the new form. This is the quickest way to clean up data so that it sorts well and has ...

Color anyone?

I'd like to see a field, possibly next to " Aspect Ratio " (which seems overly long for the information contained) for the color status of a title, i.e. color, B&W, colorized, or color + B&W. I realize I could use a custom field, but this aspect of a title is so basic that I believ...

Re: I dont know is its the right plase but

I dont know is its the right plase but if I buy dvdp I will get free updates or I need to pay for each update? Thx for the help My understanding is that the minor updates (v3.4.2 -> v3.4.3) are free (they have been so far), a major update (v3.x -> v4.0) would be charged $18 US (which I will be more...

Re: [DVDpedia] Feature Requests Poll

FromOZ, is this what you had in mind? I had to add the item #s back in manually as when your post is quoted they are represented by an asterisk. 1. [low]Change from XML data store to embedded SQL database (i.e. SQLite) 2. [high]Fields - add field for movie title in original language 3. [medium]Field...

Re: [DVDpedia] Feature requests

Specifically, I would like: • The region menu to automatically change to "0" when non-DVD media is selected. To which I would add having the "# Discs" field change to "# Tapes" for VHS, MiniDV, and 8mm Media and "DVD Release" change to "VHS Release"...

I'd go one step further and make IMDB the default and give users the option of using Amazon's ratings. :)

How about defaulting to last name in the next update and letting users who want to sort by first name use the option key?

I'm with Midori. Although I may eventually add CDpedia and Bookpedia once I get my DVD collection cleaned up, I don't want to pay for them until I'm ready to use them. One Augean task at a time!

Re: Marking those items which have been entered in *pedias

My biggest challenge is figuring out how to mark books as I enter them. Since many of my books are collectible, I do not want to deface them, but I would still like a quick visual cue as to whether they have been entered. Personalized Post-It notes used as bookplates are my top choice so far. Any o...

As a longtime user of DVDpedia I have to put my vote behind a better box set solution as well. The link idea is a good work-around but it would be nice to be able to have a true accounting of a box set that "breaks out" into its individual titles. Although I'm a relative newcomer to DVDpe...

I too would like to see the ability to preview some content (ideally the cover, if available) before adding or updating.

The ability to paste would be most useful for those covers which cannot be found on the web and must be scanned. This is most often the case with out of print videos and DVDs.

I'm still shopping programs. In what respect(s) do you think pedia is better than Cache? Other than the features already posted (auto selection of some fields on import and ability to paste images) what, if anything, are you going to miss from DVD Cache?

I have nothing against your idea, I simply have more urgent priorities if DVDpedia is to become my catalog of choice.

Maybe when Connor and Nora get back from vacation they'll add it to their list (hopefully behind import enhancement and cover art cut/copy/paste).
