Re: Show URL in browser
For a URL that takes you to the selected entry drag an entry from the table view to a place that takes URLs, like a rich text document. For the URL from the URL field you need to turn on the URL field in the preferences under the fields tab, then it will be available in the edit window under the ex...

Search/replace on selected items
With optional regular expressions, on fields selected by the user. The simple interface has a popup for fields, so you could do All or just one field at a time. The complex interface lets you select any available field(s), the same way View Options (Apple-J) works, with an extra button for Select Al...

Normalize Amazon URLs
The Pedias often end up with incomprehensible URLs like http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html%3FASIN=0470226641%26tag=ldvd-20%26lcode=xm2%26cID=2025%26ccmID=165953%26location=/o/ASIN/0470226641 and http://www.amazon.com/B-S-Ruthless-Management-People-Profits/dp/1599181657/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=b...

Smart Collection bug #2 in CDpedia 4.5.1
1. Create the Smart Collection "URL contains 'anything you like here' ". Ten items would be a nice size. 2. Select the Collection created in (1). 3. Select, say, the sixth item in the collection. Edit (Apple-E) this item. 4. Edit the URL field of the item so that it no longer matches the c...

Smart Collection bug in CDpedia 4.5.1
1. Create the Smart Collection "URL contains 'anything you like here' ". This collection should hold at least 3 items, more is better. 2. Select the Collection created in (1). 3. Select the first item in the collection. As far as I can tell, this bug only appears on the first item. Edit (A...

Show URL in browser
It would be nice if there was an option to show a (selectable/copyable/pastable) URL in the embedded browser. You have a blue bar across the top that could be used to display this.

CDpedia 4.5: Split Selection to New Disc
CDpedia always puts the renumbered tracks at the end of the track list. This upsets the original track order when the selected tracks are in the middle of the track listing. Dream Theater's Black Clouds & Silver Linings , for example, is a 3-disc set. When you select the second disc's tracks, th...

Re: Amazon Killing Mobile Apps That Use Its Data
I just saw today that Barnes & Noble has an iPhone app. Looks like a bad trend. The thing that bugs me is that Amazon's and B&N's apps are search apps, but DL and *Pedia are catalog apps. They don't really compete with each other.

By Amazon's reasoning it should.

Changes in the betas?
I downloaded the DVDpedia beta, but there's no Changelog to tell you what is changed/fixed from the current release.

Option-start hides other app's windows
On my iMac G5 (10.4), when I start DVDpedia with Option held down, the top-level window Hides as if Apple-H had been pressed. It doesn't seem right that DVDpedia changes the state of another app's windows.

"Rebuild All" for autofill
Currently, one must select each different autofill item (Director, Studio, etc) in order to rebuild them. That is time consuming and wasteful. A "Rebuild All" option should be offered, which will batch rebuild every autofill item.

DVDpedia 4.4.3 doesn't maintain separate autofill data
Let's say you have 2 separate DVDpedia databases. One at the usual location, ~/Library/Application Support/DVDpedia, and another at ~/Documents/Alternate. You can switch between them by holding down option when starting DVDpedia. Assume they have different data, such that their autofill information ...

Re: Bookpedia: Series ignore leading articles
It would be nice if there were an option for the Series field to ignore leading articles (The, A) just like Bookpedia does for titles. That way "The Gates of Time" would be sorted under G rather than T. You mean "Time, The Gates of"? Are you saying that the correct place to sort...

What are Collection ID and Disc ID used for?
In CDpedia, if it matters. The documentation doesn't say.
