I'm having a doubt with Author field in Book& DVDpedia:
In the case of compound surname (i.e. "Carlos Ruiz Zafón"): Trying to sort it by surname (holding down option) ordered in the "Z".
Is there any way to sort it correctly by surname (in the "R"")?
Thank you very much
Javi
How to sort by compound surname?
Re: How to sort by compound surname?
Hi Javi,
A compound name like that would require a dash in order to sort it correctly: Carlos Ruiz-Zafón. In the future we want to add a sort author field to allow more sorting customization without changing the name.

Thank's Conor
Is that I imagined. It would be nice that possibility in future versions.

Re: How to sort by compound surname?
Hi Conor -
Has this feature been implemented yet? (I haven't been able to find it). It would be great to have Gabriel Garcia Marquez sort properly under "G" rather than "M", and Charles de Lint sort under "d" rather than "L."
Thanks!
Paula

Re: How to sort by compound surname?
Sorry I had not replied earlier, I was trying to figure out if there was a way already a way in Bookpedia to sort on a first last name without altering the author field with the dash or placing the last name first. It's on the to do list to add the sort author as mentioned, but will not happen until a bigger upgrade where the database structure will be changed, as it's a bigger compatibility change.
