Home and End keys

When one presses the Home or End keys, the view moves to the beginning or end of the collection, as it should.

But it also selects the first or last item in the list.

I find that I don't usually want to do this. I just want to view the first or last bunch of items as part of a navigation process.

Could the selection (as an option, if others like it) be turned off?
