Copies from Wikipedia

Hi,

I would like to ask a, maybe, stupid question:

Is it possible to copy the actors and their roll-names in one step directly into DVDpedia.
At the moment I'm writing all the names by hand if they are not available from someone else.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards
Highway

There was no easy way to parse actor and roles as there so many options in separations. But you can at least copy/paste a list of actors. (I have to fix some copy issues since 10.11) if you make sure there is at least one credit and you select that credit and then paste, it will add all the names coming in per line as new actors as long as they don't already exist.

You can select columns in MacOS by holding down option and dragging.

I'l see if I can integrate the multiple add feature that if you paste a list of names into a single name or role, it would spread them out from that role all the way down.

Hi Conor,

I've tried it directly but it doesn't work.

When I want to use the actor's list in Wikipedia it's looking in that way:

Colin Farrell: John Smith
Q’orianka Kilcher: Pocahontas
Christopher Plummer: Captain Christopher Newport
Christian Bale: John Rolfe
August Schellenberg: Powhatan
Wes Studi: Opechancanough
David Thewlis: Captain Edward Wingfield
Yorick van Wageningen: Captain Argall
Raoul Trujillo: Tomocomo
Michael Greyeyes: Rupwew
Kalani Queypo: Parahunt
Ben Mendelsohn: Ben
Noah Taylor: Selway
Brian F. O'Byrne: Lewes
Ben Chaplin: Robinson
Jamie Harris: Emery
John Savage: Savage

When I copy this list, all names will be written in one field. Is there a way to write Colin Farrell in one field and John Smith in the next field.
And that row by row?

There must be any solution because sometimes I find very long lists in the database - and when I say very long I mean really very long. I don't think that someone writes all the names including director, producer etc. by hand.

Could be useful for CDpedia as well, example:

Richard Auldon Clark: Conductor
The Manhattan Chamber Orchestra: Orchestra
Kenneth Pasmanick: Bassoon
Nathaniel Rosen: Cello
Charles Castleman: Violin

for this release https://doghouse.bruji.com/album/863111

or rock/pop releases

Ritchie Blackmore: Guitar
Jon Lord: Keyboards
Glenn Hughes: Bass Guitar, Vocals
Ian Paice: Drums
David Coverdale: Vocals

see this release

even adding them manually...

That's absolutely what I mean...

So I'm not too stupid.
Good to know. :)
