I have not downloaded the Pocketpedia iPad app yet as I would like a question answered first. I am looking for a book app that creates an inventory of my book collection with the location of each book. Then the app should have some means to filter all books with an entered book category [genre]. Does it do that?

The best practice is to organise your book library by downloading and installing the desktop/laptop version of Bookpedia first. The trial version allows 25 entries.
Have an extensive play.
The pedia's are very customisable, what with standard fields and customisable fields and of course huge sorting abilities of those fields and within those fields.
Once you have the desktop version the way you want, then download and install the iPad version and just sync the two.
That easy.
