You guys rock! It works! The only tiny quibble is that EyeTV playback doesn't start in fullscreen, but I'm not sure if that's within your control.

Re: Playing EyeTV recordings
Actually VLC does play .eyetv files directly (no conversion required) though Quicktime can't. But I am mystified what difference it makes to DVDPedia whether it is in fullscreen mode or not for triggering playback -- if it can call EyeTV when it isn't in fullscreen mode why not when it is? I am awar...

Re: iPhone Remote Support for DVDPedia Full Screen Mode?
Sure, but it is a real pain sending keyboard commands from a keyboard screen instead of using the arrow keys on a remote screen.

Re: Playing EyeTV recordings
OK, thanks, that does work in edit mode -- but is there a way to view an EyeTV file in DVDPedia fullscreen mode? That's what I really want/need.
Thanks again.
Ted

Re: Support for playing .dvdmedia files
Yes, it recognizes the DVDMedia files, but unfortunately Front Row doesn't so the playback via the Front Row plugin is broken.Conor wrote:Hi Ted,
Thank you for the feedback. Try out the beta it should recognize new .dvdmedia links as movies.

iPhone Remote Support for DVDPedia Full Screen Mode?
Do any of the iPhone/iPod Touch remotes out there support DVDPedia in fullscreen mode? If. not, would it be possible to cooperate with one of the remote's programmers and implement it? Yes, I use Para9's fantastic Front Row plugin, but there are advantages to be playing DVDs directly with the DVDPla...

Playing EyeTV recordings
The cataloging of EyeTV recordings is a great feature, but playing them (through EyeTV, just as VIDEO_TS get played by the Apple DVD player) would be really great!

Re: Snow Leopard compatibility?
Between not being able to find anywhere, any mention of Ruby/Rails/OCI8 Snow Leopard compatibility or lack thereof and now the news that both the Front Row plugin and Screen Sharing is broken across releases, it might be the first time I ever hold off on an Mac OS X upgrade (since the Public Beta!) ...

Snow Leopard compatibility?
Any issues for the Pedias -- can I go ahead and upgrade to Snow Leopard?
You might want to submit the Pedia's compatibility status here:
http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/
It was mentioned in Pogue's Snow Leopard review today.

Re: CDPedia + Itunes
One thing that would be supper helpful is two way cover art sync with iTunes (manual is fine) -- I'd love to be able to easily copy a CD cover between CDPedia & iTunes depending on which one has it (or has the higher res. better version).

Support for playing .dvdmedia files
It is the standard double clickable format for the Apple DVD Player. Using RipIt instead of MacTheRipper produces a .dvdmedia file. Yes, you can obviously extract the VIDEO_TS folder manually from the .dvdmedia file, but direct playback support in DVDPedia would be nice.

Re: iPhone backup slow after syncing PocketPedia
Anyone know if this slow-backup problem with PocketPedia has improved since the latest iPhone 3G updates? As best as I can tell the incremental backups are faster now -- i.e. the second and and subsequent backups after having added a large PocketPedia collection. The first backup, however, is still...

Re: PocketPedia Missing Entries
Thank you for the information. The letter creating its own section will be fixed under Leopard 10.5 (Tiger can't group the two letters as indistinct). The next update should be ready soon. Is there going to be an iPhone OS Leopard??? The DVDPedia with which I'm synching with is running under Leopar...

Re: PocketPedia Missing Entries
Hi Conor,
Good news: it works now, all the entries made it.
Bad news: A complete synch was necessary (the incremental didn't work) and the accented letters are still showing up as separate alphabetical entries (the way DVDPedia used to work before you fixed it).
Thanks again,
Ted

PocketPedia Missing Entries
Currently my PocketPedia is synched with DVDPedia (2200+ entries, FWIW) and most of the titles starting with E are missing. The original synch appeared to be error free, as are subsequent incremental synchs. Here is the "smoking gun" clue: all the E titles alphabetically before été meurtri...
