Re: Play Movie not working OSX Mojave
I just, begrudgingly, updated from Sierra to Mojave, and dragging links to DVDPedia doesn't work for me any more. I can drag an mkv or mp4 file onto the DVDP icon in the Dock and it will add it creating a Collection called "Imported Links", and I can open the Edit window, clink the "L...

Re: Can I Copy a Columns View?
Well, I dunno. Restarted my computer, launched DVDP and it is back to Default Movie Columns and proper sortings and Grid/List view choices.
Super Weird. That was scary. I'm not gonna mess with smidge move theory Default Column shenanigans any more.

Re: Can I Copy a Columns View?
Oh no :( It happened. All my dozens of Movie Collections went VB Default on me. And strangely they all also switched to list view from grid view. It changed every single Collection in my Library. Somehow I made an error. I hope I can repeat the error so that if/when I recreate the Proper Movie Defau...

Re: Can I Copy a Columns View?
Assuming most of your collections Movie and Volleyball are at default, this would work. 1-- Go to a Movie Collection that is set to Default View and resize one of the columns a smidge so it revokes being set to Default 2-- Go to the VB master, set it as default 3-- Visit all VB collections – "...

Re: Can I Copy a Columns View?
So my 'smidge move' theory should work, but I'd like to be super confident about one aspect of it. When I go to VB Master and Set it to default so that I can then Apply that default to the other VB Collections it won't change all the Movie Collections to that 'default' view unless I explicitly invok...

Re: Duplicated Collections Question
Exporting a .dvdpedia and then importing to an emptied duplicate is a quicker way than the .dcard option. Thanks, I didn't think of that.
I'm curious why option-dragging a Title to another Collection doesn't duplicate it. It just moves it. Am I missing something there?

Re: Duplicated Collections Question
My Collection export/import Theory, and the Copy/Paste into a new collection both work, but since they involve new collections I lose the column view arrangements. Sensible, but unfortunate for me. This is what works: Collection A - create .dcard files of all Titles Collection A - Duplicate it Renam...

Re: Duplicated Collections Question
Hmm ... maybe I'm not following this correctly. I highlight all 20 Titles in Collection A New Collection from selection Exclude this new Collection from Library Rename it Collection B When I edit a Title in either of the Collections the edit travels to the corresponding Title in the other Collection...

Re: Duplicated Collections Question
I think I see a way around this. Instead of duplicating the Collection, I export it and then import it. Preliminary testing looks good

Duplicated Collections Question
Is there a way to "break" the connection to a duplicated Collection, so that edits to a title in the Original don't travel to the Dupe? Traveling edits, I assume, is the desired and expected behavior, so why would I want to break it? Don't ask, lol. Okay, so you ask ... Let's pretend that ...

Re: Can I Copy a Columns View?
Hmm ... I'm not sure if I follow this correctly. If I use "Set as default" on an Excluded Collection, it won't foist itself upon Included Collections? That's the tricky question, which I believe you answered in the affirmative, that "Set as Default" will apply itself to anything ...

Re: Can I Copy a Columns View?
That's pretty cool but I'm stubborn about using one database. When I started the volleyball thing I thought about making a separate db but decided against it. I use DVDP for all kinds of things (restaurants, applications, user manuals, etc. etc.). It's my database world. I want it open all the time ...

Re: Can I Copy a Columns View?
I suppose if I: --go to a Movie Collection that is set to Default View and resize one the columns a smidge so it revokes being set to Default --go to the VB master, set as default, apply to the rest of the VB Collections --go to that Movie Collection I moved a smidge, move it back, Set as Default I ...

Re: Can I Copy a Columns View?
The Collections I want to manipulate already exist. And I believe you answered my fearful question that if I set one of these Volleyball arrangements to "Default View" so I can apply it to the other 19 Volleyball collections , then it will change any of the movie collections to this 'tempo...

Can I Copy a Columns View?
My ... ahem ... Volleyball Collections have different needs than my Movie Collections. I have a Default Column View that I use for movie collections that doesn't work for the Volleyball collections. I have about 20 teams and I've made a nice Column View for one of them which I would like to apply to...
