I've been on vacation for a week, but just FYI, beta 101 of Bookpedia produces no results when using the cogwheel and searching Amazon US only for this ASIN: 1406348279

I've not had books to enter in mass lately and won't for a while as I play catch up with a large backlog of FBA items I need to ship to Amazon warehouses. But that item had been originally mis-entered into Bookpedia as B010DTOT7C when I had scanned the barcode back on June 29th for the book [unknown what version of Bookpedia I was running at that time, but I've not restarted Bookpedia since July 1st, when i took an 8 day vacation].

Just to confirm - I am unable to find any ASIN with beta 101 of Bookpedia. Another one - a map a friend of mine publishes that I sell: B001CV2Q5I

I am using my own Associate ID and access/secret key [and to follow up on the prior message about the IAM rights - leaving them blank, I wasn't able to use Bookpedia - I will try and narrow down the correct rights on Thursday when I have a bit more time].

Interesting! Using my own credentials they don't work. I guess I will switch back to Amazon Test.

Thanks for the details. To check on your credentials after searching do look in your console log as it would list any errors from the Amazon API directly reports. You can access the console log via the application 'Console', located inside your Applications/Utilities. The newer messages are towards the end of the log. That said Amazon does sometimes not list items, although this is usually limited to popular Kindle items (I think they are trying to avoid automated price adjustments for popular items by competitors).

Interesting! According to the error, my Amazon Associates ID doesn't have access to the Product Advertising API since I only re-applied a couple of months ago and haven't generated any sales yet. I just use it for Bookpedia, but now I will try and use my affiliate ID to get 3 sales as one must have 3 sales within 3 months to be an official affiliate. But it used to work. :( So I guess I will delete my ID from the Bookpedia prefs and use Amazon Test instead, until I get those 3 sales.

The console error:

Amazon Search Error: AWS.InvalidAssociate = Your XXXXXXX is not registered as an Amazon Associate. Please register as an associate at https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/as ... tials/home.

Once logged in, the link they include above states:

Product Advertising API Important Notice
Registration for the Product Advertising API is only available to Associates that have been reviewed and received final acceptance in to the Associates Program. You can request an exception for approval by completing the Contact Us form and providing details about why you require an exception to access PA API. Your request will be reviewed by a specialist and you will receive a response within 3-4 days. If you currently have access to PA API, please ignore this message.

Thanks for the info, Conor!

Thank you for the info on the error and the new requirements from Amazon. They are making the API for bigger associates slowly; I do think that 1 sale a month requirement will slowly increase.
